Lead Time
Humble Lion Leather is solely operated by one person. I manage everything needed for the company, including designing and crafting each item. However, this is not my primary job and I am unable to spend all day solely crafting wallets.
Made-To-Order items will have an average turnaround time of about 4-6 weeks. Expect longer lead times during holidays. If time allows, I will craft Ready-To-Ship items. These items will be complete minus edge burnishing, allowing me to increase the quantity and to provide a reduced lead time.
I understand that there will be times when quicker lead times are desired. Expedited items will be an additional fee of $40. This will guarantee items will ship 3 weeks from the time when the order is placed. Contact for inquiries.
The Process
Each product is built with traditional artisan craftsmanship, the entire process is completed by hand, slowly & meticulously. Every item is hand saddle-stitched, a labor-intensive construction using two needles at each end of the thread. Saddle stitching is considerably more durable than a machine-stitch due to each thread being interlinked & tied. The thread used is a heavy flat polyester thread & braided structure. Braided synthetics are substantially more durable than traditional linen, and the flat profile minimizes everyday scraping through wear-and-tear.
